Summer Baby Clothes – What Is Appropriate Summer Wear For Your Baby?

Wednesday, January 4th, 2012

It’s fun to shop for a baby at any time of year. If you are looking for summer baby clothes, then you want to pick stylish threads for your baby but still make sure they are designed with safety in mind as well. So, what should you look for in summer baby clothes?

Consider Buying a Sleeveless Sleeping Bag for Early Morning Wear

Obviously, temperature is a consideration as you want your little one to feel cool and comfortable. Consider the fabrics of summer then. Choose cotton baby clothes as well as muslin materials that lie soft against baby’s skin which are breathable. If you are concerned that the coolness of early morning may cause baby to chill, then you may want to dress him in a sleeveless sleeping bag. That way, his legs will be covered and he can move around comfortably without the fear that he may kick off any covers or become too warm.

Keep Baby Protected from Harmful UV Rays

Again, you want to choose clothes made of organic cotton to ensure the garments are safe for your infant to wear. Organic cotton fibers are manufactured from cotton that has not been treated with harmful pesticides or chemicals. Plus, these kinds of materials, as mentioned, are breathable, so they are absorbent as well. You have to be careful of UV rays too. Little hats to shield baby’s head are good items to choose to keep baby protected. Baby can get a sunburn even in the shade, so make sure he is protected on hot summer days.

Choose Summer Baby Clothes that are Easy-care

Naturally, because babies grow at a quick pace, you want to choose summer baby clothes that are economical, with prices that fit the size of your budget. Because infants do grow at a fast rate, you also want to avoid buying a lot of the clothes at one time. In addition, pick a larger size but not one that is so roomy that your infant looks lost in the material. Think about the durability of the clothing too as babies are notorious for spitting up food, vomiting, and spilling what they are eating. Therefore, choosing easy-care clothing is obviously appropriate regardless of the season.

Choose Clothes with Snaps instead of Buttons

Keep your baby safe by choosing snaps on clothing over buttons. Buttons can be pulled off or can come off and be swallowed. Plus, snaps make it less of a trial to change your babys diaper.

Onesies – A Good Summer Clothing Choice

So, for summer baby clothes, you may be better off choosing onesies or baby body suits instead of opting for two-piece sets. Onesies are more comfortable for baby after they are done eating and are cooler as well. Plus, this kind of unisex clothing can be used again if you planning to add to your family. You may want to choose one-piece clothing items with footies too as the clothing does not require baby socks. As baby socks can get lost or pulled off, onesies with footies can remedy any problems in this regard.

When it’s Best to Choose Two-piece Sets

However, if your baby wears diapers that need to be washed, then the better choice would be to buy two-piece sets for summer wear. Again, buy clothes that are a little larger (but not too large), making sure they are functional as well as stylish.

How and Why To Buy Wholesale Diapers Online

Saturday, August 13th, 2011

A common issue that frustrates parents of new born are the high costs of raising them, and according to many parents, the biggest money stealer is the baby diaper. I have to agree that they are very expensive. Until few years ago, it was a concern for my wife and I. Diapers are basically use and throw material and spending a fortune on them every year does not make much sense.

In the recent past, we have moved to buying groceries online. One of the main advantages is, we get to capitalize on heavy shopping deals and offers. The other is the fact that, when we buy a dozen items, we get free shipping. This saves us a lot of hassle of driving to the supermarket thrice every month, standing in long line to clear the bill, etc. Top it all, it saves a good amount of fuel, as the supermarket we visit is about 6 miles from our house.

Among the list of items we buy online are wholesale diapers. They come cheap, when bought in bulk and save a very good amount of money. Initially, we used to buy brands such as huggies or pampers, but recently we decided to try out a generic store brand such as gerber and gdiapers. Honestly, we did not find much difference in the quality and usability. You can easily find these brands on an online store such as amazon.com (which is our favorite).

Another suggestion I can give you in picking up diapers in bulk for a cheaper price is by using monthly coupons at websites such as diapers.com. Of course, you are wondering, “how do I find a coupon?”. Go to diapers.com and sign up for their monthly newsletter and confirm your subscription. You will receive their emails with deals and coupon regularly that you can benefit on.

Lastly, though this one is a little unrelated, if you are not one of those who likes to shop online, or who is not comfortable using your bank cards online, then you can look for a wholesale club in your area such as Sam’s, Costco or BJ’s. Of course, there is a signup fees, but the benefits will outweigh the costs in the long run. Do evaluate the pros and con of each club before you make a final decision. Enjoy your shopping!

Looking At Cloth Diapers

Saturday, June 18th, 2011

There are simply an endless amount of benefits that come with using cloth diapers. Probably the main reason is that they are first of all healthier for the infant, and next they are good for the environment as opposed to other choices. Cloth is also less costly and also reusable.

There are a number of health concerns related to disposable diapers in regard to those chemicals involved with eliminating odors and absorbing moisture which they contain. Any infants who may have a sensitivity to chemicals can develop allergic reactions, rashes and perhaps even some form of asthma.

Surveys conducted have come to show that infants using disposable diapers are often more difficult for a parent to potty train. They have also reported that the children involved in the survey will be of an older age when the training has finally been successfully completed. This is simply because the child wearing the cloth diaper is exposed to the wetting or soiling discomfort much sooner than the one wearing the disposable type.

Although the initial cost is greater, the cloth diapers which can usually be washed and reused up to 100 times turn out in the long run to be a much better buy. And when they are no longer suitable for the infant to wear, they might be recycled into cleaning or dusting rags.

Some believe cloth diapers should not be the choice when one is traveling. This is not the case, but one will have to pack somewhat differently for the trip.

Probably the most important consideration for inclusion in the diaper bags one is transporting will be a water tight container into which the soiled cloth diapers might be placed until returning home and being able to wash.

The bottom line is that whichever type one ultimately chooses to go with, it is a wise decision to stock up with as many as possible before the birth of the child as they will definitely be used consistently and rapidly.
